Bach's Magnificat is derived from one of the most ancient Christian hymns, and was the first major liturgical composition on a Latin text by Bach. Its historic words act as a foil to a modern, cutting edge work from Scottish composer, Sir James MacMillan. In this world premiere event, commissioned by OBF, Matthew Halls conducts a deeply spiritual Catholic view of the requiem from the artist the BBC called "one of the most successful composers alive." An absolute must-see in 2016!
